About the event

Holli Mathews is an adoptee herself, adopted at the near age of 2 years old. She has been through many motions of adoption - from dealing with abandonment issues, anxiety over her biological family, curiousity, and meeting her biological family at the age of 18. Holli finds it very important that all adopted children, but especially adopted teenagers have someone to connect too; as she wishes she had during those years. This is an event for teens to express themselves and hear that they are not alone. Holli is ultimately hoping to show the blessings of being adopted to the teens who may be struggling with that realization through their trials.

A note from Holli to parents considering signing their teens up -

I ask for you to please leave a good email, so I can send a preview email of what is to be discussed. I am willing to answer any questions beforehand and I highly encourage parents to attend. I know from speaking at adoption classes that hearing other adoptee's story's can be beneficial for both the adopted teen and adoptive parents.  I am intending on keeping this event age appropriate, as well as, honest with the teens. With that said, parts of my adoption story may cause triggers for the teens, even though that is not the intent of this meeting. If at any time during Teen Hour your teen needs to walk away for a break or end the call, I want to encourage them to take care of themselves and do so - I will not be offended whatsoever. Parents, you can also reach out to our team after by calling the 24/7 Parent Hotline at 530 - 298 - 0627 for extra support or reach out to me by email and I will respond when available.
